Chelsea Okoroh is a native of Glenarden, Maryland. She is currently enrolled at Bowie State University where she will receive her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in May of 2021. She serves as the Senior Class Vice President, President of Bowie Women In Business, Vice President of American Marketing Association, Political Actions and Community Outreach Chair of the Bowie State NAACP Chapter. Chelsea is an active advocate in her community for mental health, injustice and human rights. Chelsea aspires to mentor young adults, uplift the black community and advocate for the unheard.

HBCU Project Manager Intern

Andrea McIntosh was born and grew up in Nassau, Bahamas where she pursued an Associates Degree in Business Management. But McIntosh wanted to take things to the next level. Hence, enrolling at Harris-Stowe State University to major in Accounting was one of them. One day her hope is to enroll in a master's degree program. She has a current cumulative G.P.A. of 3.93 while being active in numerous organizations and fellowships. Recently, she served as the Junior Class Vice President for the Academic year 2019/20. But she wanted to take it up a notch. Currently, she serves as the SGA Executive Board Chief of Staff 2020/21. In essence, she’s currently a member of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and the TorchBearers Youth Association (TYA). McIntosh is a scholar of several organizations inclusive of: Thurgood Marshall College Fund, Board of Regents, Pepsis Retention and St.Louis Chapter Internal Auditors (IIA) to name a few. Also, in both 2018 and 2019, she was a National Youth nominee under the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture in her country of origin. Finally, her aspirations are to become an accountant and or entrepreneur. Also, becoming a speaker at leadership events is one of her goals. For years, people have poured into her life, hence, sharing her story, advocating and demonstrating positivity will create more leaders.

HBCU Project Manager Intern

Hailing all the way from London, England. Chyna Sawyers is a rising senior and Engineering Technology Scholar with a double concentration in Architectural Construction Management and Computer Aided Draft and design more commonly known as CADD at MVSU. She will be an honorary member of the class of 2021 as a first-generation university graduate. As a three-time Distinguished Scholar recipient and a 2020-2021 White House Initiative on HBCUs Competitiveness Scholar she desires to maintain her 3.6 GPA. While humbly serving as the 2020-2021 Miss Mississippi Valley State University. Life after Mississippi Valley State University for Miss Sawyers includes obtaining more degrees and ultimately beginning her dream career of owning hotels and housing the homeless.

Chauncy Maurice Whaley a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Florida is a student at Edward Waters College which is located in his hometown. He is majoring in Mass Communications and currently serving the student body as the Chaplin for the Student Government Association, Chaplin for the Pre-Alumni Council, Vice President for the college chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and Director of Staff for Campus Ministries. Whaley career aspirations are to become a radio personality, business owner, educator, servant of people both spiritual and political, and become an HBCU President

HBCU Project Manager Intern

Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Morolake Okanlawon is a rising sophomore at Mississippi Valley State University where she is majoring in Biology. Her interest in Biology stems from her desire to provide solutions to world problems, like pollution and human diseases, through research and gaining medical experience. As a recognition of her academic performance, Morolake was designated as a University’s President’s Scholar. She intends to maintain her academic excellence while serving as a university ambassador. After graduation, Morolake plans to attend medical school and/or graduate school with the aim of becoming a physician or physician scientist.

Outreach and Intern Coordinator

Tamera Edwards was born and raised in Snellville, Georgia. She is a student at Fort Valley State University majoring in Biology. Tamera’s career aspirations are to become a Behavioral Psychologist and assist those battling with mental health. On-campus, Tamera serves as the Legislative Secretary for FVSU’s Student Government Association and a New Student Orientation Leader.
